Sculptureaday – Spontaneous gestures and happenstance observations in the sculptural vernacular
Sculptureaday (sad) was conceived by artist Sara Graham and art writer Bryne McLaughlin in 2008 to demystify—or perhaps re-mystify—contemporary artmaking from the margins of workaday life. It started five years later as a blog. Specializing in found sculptural circumstances, spontaneously constructed fantasies and otherwise unexpected observations on the plastic arts, sad’s growing list of special contributors includes artists Kerri Reid, Craig Leonard, Matthew Beattie, Reece Terris, Felicia E. Gail, Greg Snider, Jesse Birch & Jesse Gray, Aaron Weldon, Becka Viau and Lisa Neighbour.
